Weatherby Backcountry 2.0 Carbon Rifle 257 Weatherby Magnum 26" Barrel 3 Rd Capacity Patriot Brown Cerakote Finish Exposed Carbon Fiber Stock Muzzle Brakes Right Hand

Expanding on the ground-breaking Backcountry, the Backcountry 2.0 Carbon combines Weatherby's incredibly popular tensioned carbon fiber barrel with the classic steel Weatherby Mark V action in a lightweight package. Starting at just 5.8 lbs, the Backcountry 2.0 Carbon owes much of its light weight to the new Peak 44 Blacktooth stock - the lightest production carbon fiber stock on the market. Aiding in both weight and recoil reduction is the second generation 3DHEX recoil pad, the first production 3D printed pad the firearms world has seen. Hidden inside the pad are a series of interlocking voids that progressively collapse during recoil, expanding the time component of the recoil impulse and deadening the sharp kick of magnum chamberings. More pronounced spiral fluting on the bolt body not only trims a little weight, it also reduces bearing surface within the action and results in even smoother function. The newly-threaded bolt handle is equipped with a lightweight aluminum extended and skeletonized knob. Fit with a titanium version of Weatherby's highly-effective Accubrake ST, this brake is blended to match the profile of the #4 carbon fiber barrel. With 30 symmetrically-spaced ports that help harness the recoil, it tames even magnum chamberings and makes them pleasant to shoot. With exposed carbon fiber on both the barrel and the stock, all metal on the action and barrel is sealed away behind a ceramic Cerakote shell in Patriot Brown. The stock carries a complementary brown and green pattern to help break up the gun's lines in the field. Combining light weight and an exceptional barrel system, the Backcountry 2.0 Carbon is a superb addition to the new Backcountry 2.0 family.

Before You Purchase A Gun

What Do I Need To Buy A Gun?

Answer teThe requirements to buy a gun depend on your location, but in the U.S., here are the general steps:

  • Age Requirement
  • Background Check
  • Valid Identification
  • Residency Requirement
  • Firearm License or Permit (If Required)
  • Waiting Period (If Applicable)
  • State-Specific Laws
Is it legal to buy a gun online?

Yes, buying a gun online is completely legal in the U.S., but the firearm must be shipped to a Federal Firearms License (FFL) dealer in your state. You’ll need to pass a background check and complete any required paperwork before taking possession of the firearm.

Do I need a background check to buy a gun online?

Yes. Even when purchasing online, a background check is required at the FFL dealer where you pick up your firearm (unless you have a permit that exempts you in your state). The FFL dealer will conduct the check before handing over the gun.

Can I have a gun shipped directly to my house?

No, firearms cannot be shipped directly to your home. They must be sent to a licensed FFL dealer, where you will complete the legal transfer process. However, ammo and accessories can be shipped directly to your residence in most states.

How do I choose an FFL dealer for my transfer?

Many online gun stores allow you to select an FFL dealer during checkout. If not, you’ll need to find a local gun shop or licensed dealer willing to handle the transfer and provide their information to the seller.

After You Purchase A Gun

What happens after I purchase a gun online?

After completing your purchase, your firearm will be shipped to a Federal Firearms License (FFL) dealer near you. You’ll receive tracking information and instructions on how to pick up your firearm.

What do I need to do after purchasing a gun online?

After purchasing, provide the seller with the information of your chosen FFL dealer (they will handle the transfer). Once the firearm arrives at the dealer, you’ll go there, complete the required background check and paperwork, and then take your firearm home after approval.

What do I need to bring when picking up my gun?

When you arrive at the FFL dealer, bring:

  • valid government-issued ID (matching the address on your order).
  • Any required permits or licenses (varies by state).
  • Payment for the FFL transfer fee (usually $25-$75, depending on the dealer).
Do I have to pass a background check when picking up my gun?

Yes. Even if you bought the gun online, you must pass a background check (NICS) at the FFL dealer before taking possession of your firearm.

Can I return the gun if I change my mind?

We do not accept returns once a firearm has been transferred. Always inspect the gun at the FFL dealer before completing the transfer—once you take it home, it’s yours.

What should I do after taking my gun home?

Once your firearm is in your possession, follow these steps:

  • Read the manual – Understand how your firearm operates.
  • Inspect & clean – Ensure it’s in proper working condition.
  • Secure it safely – Store in a gun safe or lockbox.
  • Get training – Take a safety course or practice at a range.
  • Know your local laws – Understand where and how you can legally carry your firearm.
